Each year, for all but the last year, I have held an open house for any Brug lovers to drop in, have a coffee/tea and get cuttings of any of my Brugs they would like.

I am facing back surgery in ( likely) Oct 25th and am having the open house this year on Sat Oct 9th ( the Thanksgiving w/e Sat) with the help of Jeff.

Anyone who lives close enough and wished to drop by may do so from 10:00 to 2:00 and get cuttings. I am also reducing some of my bigger plants, they too will go to new homes as I did backup cuttings last year and now have smaller plants to bring in and hold over for myself.

I will not take advance orders, I will not mail out cuttings. If you live a distance and can talk someone else who is coming into getting you and mailing you a cutting, I don't mind that.

I ask that you email or message me so I can expect you and give you directions. Bring string, bags/pots for roots if you hope for plants, clean snippers. I have markers and tags for you.

If you have any questions, ask away in your email. )

I have: ( click to enlarge photos please)

    1) a pure white, fragrant, pendant unnamed plant ( Whiskers X Ecuador Pink) I grew form seed in 2003 and I keep for the fracrance, colour and flower position....

    Wh X EP 2003

2)Another 2003 plant I grew from seed that is a L'amour x Butterfly cross, Pink and white, smells like baby powder, un-named but I keep it also for the colour, outward facing flower position and fragrance....

    L'Amour x Butterfly

3)Exotica is very difficult to root but well worth the trouble if you can be successful...

    Photobucket

4)French Canadian I registered a few years ago....( this photo shows the pink brighter and darker pink than it really is)

    French Canadian

    5) Maya.....

    6) Axel Rose.....

    7) A double orange I brought back from Native habitat Ethnobotanicals and forgot what they said it was so I simply call it NHE for my own ID purposes...

    Photobucket

    8)Golden Lady.....

    Golden Lady

    9) Shawnee's Legacy is a double pink I registered last year, a Rose Beauty X Charleston cross and there will be a very limited number of cuttings from her as she is still quite small......

Ruth Ann, I think i might come. I won't be getting cuttings or plants, but just to see your gardens, oh and you and Jeff. I think it might be about 3 hours each way, but worth the trip.

Brenda and Deb, you are both most welcome to come and visit and/or participate. My offer is not exclusive to Canadians although they are likely the closest, I didn't know what other forum to post this in.

Having said this, ANYONE is welcome to drop by, we usually sit and gab on the patio, this year we have a deck to do this on. The  gardens are really suffering with my inability to garden but the Brugs don't seem to care.

Yahoo is currently refusing to accept emails from our ISP so if you email me and have a yahoo email address, I will respond with my Yahoo email that will be from 'dwtrat@' so you know the email is from me. Jeff, as you can see, I got yours, I just can't reply back at the moment.

If you need my email address just post here and I will message it to you. I am reluctant to post it in an open forum for bots to pick up for spam/hackers.

I had the wrong date initially in the title of this post.

The open house is on the Saturday, Oct 9th, not on the 10th as the initial title said.

I am sorry for the confusion.

Sekhment, we would love to have you, 2 others are hoping to make it here from MI as well. I visit a friend in midland MI and it takes me 41/2-5 hours to get there, depending on how long crossing the border takes. I will message you my address and you can pop it into yahoo or the like to see if the distance is workable.

I will have to wait and see how much cutting gets done on Shawnee's Legacy but here is one of her blooms this morning....

Sorry you can't make it, I know it is a bad weekend but we also need the time after the open house to get things into the basement. Maybe another year I can do it on other than the Thanksgiving weekend.
