An older cultivar that isn't really talked about anymore. This one is truly a classic shape and has so much going for it. I think it should be worked with more, given the background. It's got Dr Seuss in it's lineage, which is probably why it has the heavy blooming gene. Even though I pay no attention to it whatsoever, it will bloom like clockwork every month from about April through November. The oversized flowers are long lasting, and have a nice fragrance. It almost has a two-tone antique pink look with a bit of a pale yellow in the center (looks a tad like Dr S's influence). The corolla tips are pretty long too.

I too love some of the older cultivars and think now that we have obtained the double pinks and some double yellows , it would be well advised to cross back to some of these older cultivars so hat the genes are not lost but more so for their stability and longevity. The older ones have proved themselves over time and may have something to offer to the newer ones as far as stability, longevity, bug resistance and fragrance goes. I wish my zone offered me time to hybridize and mature seeds.
