Datura
Genus Datura is located with Brugmansia in the Family Solanaceae (sol-uh-NAY-see-ee). Datura is herb and bush like and usually an annual plant as opposed to the tree form of Brugmansia. Leaves of Genus Datura are furry and green. Datura enters blooming stage very quickly with bloom position being upright. This Genus is self-fertile but may also be crossed with other certain Datura. Fruit are interestingly spiny and usually burst open when ripe releasing the cork free seed. There has been recent advancement in the hybridization of Datura resulting in interesting new bloom color.
