Thanks all. Admittedly, I didn't expect any sort of a 'woo'-factor with all of the amazing double and multi's that are coming out. However, with the fear of Suav's being riddled with disease, I think it's important to always improve upon what's available for those who may desire to add Suav into their garden or even breeding program without the danger of succumbing to disease.....and perchance this dual colored seedling came of that cross was just the icing on the cake. Working with a lot of Aurea, it's important for me to have a good solid Suaveolens as my base, so this little sweetheart will be appearing as a parent with several of my future eneavors.
Working on the next generation of this cross currently, I've got about 4 crosses from this one already growing out, and about 3 more crosses still ripening that I'm really excited about. Having the same habits of both parents, it sneaks up on me with random blooms off and on most of the year. What I really like is the ability to handle warmer days supremely better than Morgensonne, thanks to Golfito's genetics. This seedling convinced me to get rid of Morgensonne alltogether. Having the Golfito genetics also did away with the darned wrangly effect of Morgensonne, yet kept her size. The fragrance was quite impressive for me. The only way I can describe it is "Cherry candy", being every bit as sweet as Morgensonne, but with added cherry fragrance.
A few people here might recall when some years ago I had sent some trees to Disneyland and two got placed between Adventureland and Frontierland entrances. This one's name is derived from one of it's clone's future placement in Disney's California Adventure.
(Below) The full finish color potential can darken to a deeper antique rose and gold in the ribbing, being very showy in person.
